Lord Jim

Lord Jim, published in 1990, is the first of conrad's major novels. Like many of Conrad's works, Lord Jim is set in a colonial worl. The critique of colonialism is much less central here, however , than in a novel like Heart of Darkness. One of the most important themes of the novel is the necessity of man's involvement with and fidelity to his fellow men as in the Nigger of Narcissus. Nostromo and Victory.
